Referral programme terms

PetCoverPro runs a small, invitation-only referral programme. Referral partners share links to our editorial content and receive a share of the commission we earn when visitors they introduce go on to click through to an insurer. These terms explain how it works.

1. The programme

Participation is by invitation only and one level deep — partners cannot recruit further partners. Each partner receives a unique referral code. Adding ?ref=code to any PetCoverPro page address turns it into that partner's referral link.

2. How attribution works

When a visitor arrives through a referral link, we set a first-party session cookie containing only the partner's code. If that visitor clicks through to an insurer during the same browsing session, the click is credited to the partner. The cookie expires when the visitor closes their browser, and it is never set if the visitor rejects cookies on our banner. We count clicks server-side and automatically exclude bot traffic and repeat clicks.

3. Revenue share

Each partner has an agreed revenue-share percentage, recorded in their partner account. Commission is only earned when an insurer's affiliate network confirms it to us, which typically happens weeks after the click. Once confirmed, we record the partner's share in their dashboard at the percentage in force on the day the entry is recorded. Payments are arranged directly between PetCoverPro and the partner; the dashboard tracks what is owed and what has been paid.

4. Partner responsibilities

Partners must share links honestly: no misleading claims about insurers or PetCoverPro, no spam, no paid search bidding on insurer or PetCoverPro brand terms, and no self-clicking or artificial traffic. Partners must comply with UK advertising rules, including making clear when a link is a commercial referral. PetCoverPro publishes editorial content only and does not give financial advice — partners must not present our content as advice either.

5. Suspension and changes

We may suspend a partner account at any time if these terms are broken, and we may update these terms with reasonable notice. Amounts already recorded as owed remain payable. Clicks from suspended accounts stop being credited immediately.
