ManyPets pet insurance review

Verdict
ManyPets is the most modern, owner-friendly major UK pet insurer in 2026. One straightforward Complete plan, an app-first claims process, a generous multi-pet discount and Great Lakes Insurance UK underwriting behind it. It is our best overall pick for most UK dog and cat owners. It loses half a point for a relatively short new-customer age window for senior pets and for being phone-light in customer support.

Who ManyPets is
ManyPets launched in 2018 as Bought By Many, an insurer built around the idea that owners would get a fairer deal if they bought collectively rather than individually through brokers and aggregators. It rebranded to ManyPets in 2021 and has since become one of the largest pet insurers in the UK by new business. Underwriting sits with Great Lakes Insurance UK Limited and the operation runs online-first, with a mobile app at the centre of the experience.
What you actually get
ManyPets sells one product: the Complete plan. It is a lifetime policy, meaning conditions diagnosed during the policy continue to be covered year after year provided you keep renewing without a break. You choose your annual vet-fee limit and your excess at quote time. There are no Bronze, Silver and Gold tiers, which is a refreshing simplification in a market that often deliberately makes comparisons hard.
Beyond core vet fees, the Complete plan typically includes cover for things like dental illness (subject to routine-care conditions), behavioural treatment and complementary therapies prescribed by a vet. Travel cover and third-party liability for dogs are usually included. As ever, the policy wording is the source of truth. Read it before you buy.
Claims experience
ManyPets\u2019 biggest strength is its claims process. Most claims are submitted online or through the app: you upload the invoice and clinical notes, and the team processes from there. At participating vet practices, ManyPets can pay the vet directly so you do not have to front the bill. Owner reports on Trustpilot and on independent UK forums consistently describe the process as faster and less frustrating than legacy insurers, though as with every insurer, complex claims involving long-running conditions still take time and sometimes generate disputes.
Pricing
Pricing varies dramatically by your pet\u2019s species, breed, age, where you live in the UK, and the vet-fee limit and excess you choose. ManyPets is generally competitive across the market for young to middle-aged pets, and is often cheaper than the legacy heritage brands for equivalent cover. Like all lifetime insurers, premiums tend to rise as your pet ages. That is a structural feature of the product, not specific to ManyPets.
The only honest way to know what ManyPets will cost you is to get a quote.
Customer service
Service is overwhelmingly digital: chat, app messaging, email. There is phone support for urgent matters but it is not the front door. For owners who like to speak to a human, this can feel stark. For owners who prefer not to sit on hold, it is a feature, not a bug.
Veterinary perspective
"ManyPets handles routine vet-fee claims well in our experience at the practice end. Long-running chronic conditions are where any insurer gets tested, and that is where we will keep the score under review."

Who ManyPets is best for
- +Tech-comfortable owners who want to manage policy and claims from a phone.
- +Multi-pet households who want a single insurer covering everyone with an automatic discount.
- +Owners insuring a young to middle-aged pet who want lifetime cover at a competitive price.
- +First-time pet insurance buyers who do not want to pick between confusing tiered plans.
Who should look elsewhere
- ×Owners of senior pets taking out a new policy for the first time should check the maximum-age rules carefully — Agria or Petplan for no upper age limit.
- ×Phone-first owners may suit Petplan, John Lewis or Tesco better.
- ×Owners of high-risk pedigree breeds who want a specialist that prices breed risk more granularly should consider Agria.
